Final Member of ‘The Fab Five’ Officially Joins Philadelphia Eagles After Four Seasons With Chiefs — Speaks Out, Blaming Mansoor Delane for His Departure From Kansas City

Posted May 5, 2026

Philadelphia, PA – The final member of the famed “The Fab Five” group has officially signed with the Philadelphia Eagles.

After four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, the cornerback has moved on to an NFC contender.

Nazeeh Johnson, a seventh-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, is the last of the group to leave Kansas City.

Johnson publicly pointed to the arrival of rookie Mansoor Delane as the main reason he had to depart.

“I once thought I would be with Kansas City forever,” Johnson said in an emotional statement.

“I wanted to be the guy who helped lead this team to wins and multiple championships.”

“But Mansoor Delane arrived and shut all of that down.”

“And now it’s time for me to move on because my value here is no longer recognized.”

Johnson was part of the highly regarded 2022 draft class nicknamed “The Fab Five.”

The group once formed the foundation of the Chiefs’ secondary but was almost entirely dismantled this offseason.

The Chiefs executed a massive overhaul of their defensive backfield, adding several high-profile veterans and rookies.

Mansoor Delane, the No. 6 overall pick in 2026 out of LSU, is expected to start immediately as the boundary cornerback.

Johnson had a solid 2024 season with 56 tackles and three pass breakups despite being a depth player.

However, recurring injuries significantly limited his playing time throughout his career.

With the cornerback room now extremely crowded, Johnson had virtually no path to the 53-man roster.

In Philadelphia, Johnson hopes to earn a meaningful role and contribute right away for a team with serious playoff aspirations.

The Eagles were seeking cornerback depth and special teams experience — two areas where Johnson has proven himself.

This move officially ends the “The Fab Five” era in Kansas City.

Though he leaves with some regret, Johnson expressed gratitude to the organization that gave him his NFL opportunity.

Stay tuned to ESPN for more updates on Nazeeh Johnson’s new chapter with the Philadelphia Eagles.
