SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic — A years-long investigation into the mysterious disappearance of a young woman is drawing major interest from the international public and the NFL community.
According to local media reports, authorities in the Dominican Republic are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the case after the remains of a missing woman were discovered earlier in 2026.

The case has received significant attention from American football fans because a former NFL player who once played for the Green Bay Packers and several other teams has been mentioned in the investigation.
Authorities say the remains belong to Carli Franchesca Guzmán Roche, who was reported missing by her family in 2021. The discovery was made during excavation work at a property previously owned by a former NFL player before it was transferred to a new owner.
After the victim’s identity was confirmed, the investigation was expanded to clarify the details surrounding the years-long disappearance.
Guzmán Roche’s family says they are still waiting for official answers after more than four years of searching for information.
Meanwhile, those involved have rejected all allegations and affirmed they will fully cooperate with the investigation.
Representing attorneys also emphasized that there has been no court ruling and that every individual mentioned in the case is presumed innocent according to the law.
For Green Bay Packers fans, the player once played at Lambeau Field in the early years of his NFL career.
And that's Mike Pennel Jr. He joined the Packers after the 2014 Draft and appeared in numerous regular season games as well as playoff games for the team.
After leaving Green Bay, he continued to play for several other teams before winning two Super Bowl championships in his career.
Currently, authorities say the investigation is still ongoing and no final conclusion has been reached.
